Ramallah and Al-Bireh Forces Call for Urgent National Meeting to Overthrow the Execution Law for Prisoners and Confront Risks with a Unified National Position

SadaNews - The national and Islamic forces in Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate called for convening a national meeting at all levels to formulate a comprehensive action plan to overthrow the fascist execution law for prisoners, which was approved by the occupying Knesset in the first reading, and to work politically, legally, socially, media-wise, and internationally to confront the ongoing crimes against prisoners being committed by the occupying state daily, escalating to include systematic torture and ill-treatment that undermines human dignity, including sexual harassment, rape, and violation of the most basic rights guaranteed by international agreements and charters.

The forces called for the widest popular movement with the participation of all institutions, bodies, and civil and popular activities to confront the escalating measures of the occupation, whether the assaults by settlers or what is happening in prisons and detention centers, and to open an international investigation to criminalize the occupation and its practices, including genocide, and to work on imposing international sanctions against it, mobilizing international efforts to overthrow the execution law for prisoners as it represents an expression of racism and a fascist regression toward "legitimizing" execution as a policy at a time when many countries in the world are abolishing that punishment. This necessitates immediate action on the political and diplomatic levels to press for the law's cessation and to obligate the occupying state to abide by international and humanitarian law.

In the same context, the forces called for reviving the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, which coincides with the twenty-ninth of this month, through the widest popular marches in rejection of the ongoing genocide, and to work on mobilizing all international efforts to continue the movement of international and community solidarity at the level of parliaments, companies, and solidarity movements to build a broad international front to continue activities and events to ensure accountability for the occupation and influence governments to provide international protection and punish war criminals in Israel for their crimes against the Palestinian people. The forces affirmed the revival of this day locally and internationally with the widest forms of popular participation, to be announced later.

On the occasion of the 37th anniversary of the declaration of independence, which coincides with "today", the forces confirmed that embodying the meanings of independence comes through adherence to national constants concerning the right of return, self-determination, and the independent state with its capital in Jerusalem, and upholding national sovereignty over our national soil through a united national front and consensus on the challenges facing our people and our national cause, including internal issues related to the committee managing the Gaza Strip and reconstruction based on the rejection of American proposals that affect our people's rights and the unity of our national soil, and working towards a unified position within the framework of the Palestine Liberation Organization as the political and national reference for any Palestinian movement, while rejecting any attempts to detach the geographical and political unity between the West Bank and Gaza Strip, and enhancing efforts to confront projects aimed at liquidating the national cause.
