Young woman killed in Kafr Qasim raises crime victims to 227
SadaNews - Thalil Naeem Amer (30 years old) was killed in the city of Kafr Qasim, and a man (50 years old) was seriously injured in the city of Umm al-Fahm. Two young men (20 and 17 years old) sustained moderate injuries in Hura and Rahat; all of these incidents occurred in separate crimes committed on the night between Thursday and Friday, bringing the total number of Arab victims since the beginning of the year to 227, including 21 women.
In Kafr Qasim, the victim was shot while driving in the northern area of the city near the "Abu Khamis" stadium. A medical crew arrived at the scene and performed resuscitation efforts.
The victim was transported to the hospital in critical condition, but her death was later pronounced after attempts to save her life failed.
Local sources in Kafr Qasim reported that the victim had shared photos of her new car on her social media accounts just hours before she was killed inside it.
Furthermore, the Israeli police announced in a statement after midnight on Thursday that they had "quickly arrested four residents of Kafr Qasim, suspected of being involved in the murder of their sister on Thursday evening in the city."
They added that the "central district police completed a special assessment of the situation at the crime scene, in a wooded area near Kafr Qasim, where the regional and central commanders reviewed intelligence information, investigation pathways, and the measures taken so far, including isolating and examining the crime scene, conducting sweep inspections, and arresting the four suspects involved, who are residents of the city in their twenties."
The statement indicated that "after assessing the situation, the regional commander assigned a special crime-fighting unit... to investigate the murder, and based on the requirements and outcomes of the investigation, the four will be presented to the court tomorrow morning (Friday) for a hearing with a request to extend their detention."
In Umm al-Fahm, a man (50 years old) was seriously injured as a result of a shooting incident, and he was subsequently transported to "HaEmek" Hospital in Afula for further treatment.
In the Negev, a boy (17 years old) sustained moderate injuries in the city of Rahat, while a young man (20 years old) was moderately injured in Hura; these incidents resulted from two separate acts of violence.
