Al-Natsheh on the Anniversary of the Martyrdom of "Abu Ammar": We Will Continue on His Path of Struggle Until Freedom and Independence

SadaNews - The Secretary-General of the National Popular Conference for Jerusalem, General Bilal Al-Natsheh, stated that the departure of the martyr Yasser Arafat "Abu Ammar" has left a deep wound in the soul that time cannot heal, due to the great values he represents in Palestinian nationalism and his adherence to constants until his last breath, leaving as a martyr and not as a fugitive, as he reiterated in the Muqata'a amidst its siege by the occupation's tanks.

Al-Natsheh added in a press statement today, Tuesday, on the occasion of the 21st anniversary of the martyrdom of the immortal leader, that his pure spirit has ascended to its Creator and his pure body has left the scene of life, but his rich history of steadfastness, sacrifice, and heroism still resides within us on both official and popular levels. He affirmed that the constants he upheld alongside the founding leaders will remain forever and that there will be no concession over them by even a hair's breadth.

Al-Natsheh emphasized that this painful anniversary instills hope within us that victory is coming and that freedom is near, no matter how much the enemies try to distance it. He confirmed that the entire national fabric must draw inspiration from the founding leader's values and meanings of national unity, which he embodied in word and deed throughout his struggle, culminating in his martyrdom. Al-Natsheh considered the pivotal phase our people are going through does not tolerate any political recklessness or bloodshed again, but rather everyone must prioritize the higher national interest over narrow party interests and dubious foreign agendas.

He stated that the blood of martyr Abu Ammar and all the martyrs of Palestinian struggle and resistance should serve as a beacon for everyone who has strayed from the path and deviated from the national compass, explaining that the pure blood of Gaza over more than two years of fierce war should be a lesson and a harsh warning for anyone who fought against the Palestine Liberation Organization and tried in vain to replace it, a project that Israel desired in the 1980s and is now failing.

Al-Natsheh noted that the Palestinian people stand today at a crossroads: either freedom and an independent state or the liquidation of the cause, pointing out that the far-right government in Israel exploits all justifications and rationales to attack and ethnic cleanse our people.

He affirmed that the late "Abu Ammar" and after him President "Abu Mazen" worked to bring our people to safety within a wise policy and a pure national agenda, firmly adhering to Palestinian constants, which convinced the world to recognize the Palestinian state under occupation and to rally international support for our just cause, manifesting in the recent tsunami of recognitions of the State of Palestine as a practical response to Netanyahu's government, which sought Arab normalization without a political solution with the Palestinian people and their leadership.

Finally, Al-Natsheh called for enhancing national unity and agreeing on common political and struggle denominators to achieve tangible accomplishments on the ground that curtail the colonial and bloody appetites of the occupation and prevent the displacement plans targeting the entire Palestinian people, extending his greetings to the Palestinian leadership that adheres to the legacy of the late Abu Ammar and follows his long path of struggle.
