Decline in Coronavirus Vaccine Sales in the United States
SadaNews - The COVID-19 vaccine season has begun slowly this autumn for Pfizer, as sales of its "Comirnaty" vaccine doses in the United States have fallen by 25% after federal regulators narrowed the recommendations on who should receive it.
The approval for the updated vaccines also came several weeks later than usual, and Pfizer stated that this has also harmed sales.
Many Americans receive vaccines in the fall to gain protection against outbreaks of any disease in the following winter. Experts say that interest in COVID-19 vaccines is waning, and this decline may increase this fall due to vaccine hesitancy and confusion about whether the doses are necessary.
Last month, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention stopped recommending COVID-19 vaccines for anyone, leaving the decision to the patients instead. They stated that they are adopting the recommendations provided by the advisers chosen by U.S. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
