The Higher Follow-Up Committee Calls for Participation in a National Demonstration
SadaNews - The Higher Follow-Up Committee for Arab Citizens, in coordination with the Araba Municipality, has called on Arab citizens in the country to participate in a national demonstration against the rise in crime, scheduled for three o'clock in the afternoon on the coming Saturday, and to hold a demonstration in front of the Prime Minister's office in Jerusalem during the government's session, which will take place on Sunday morning, November 9, 2025.
The Committee for Combating Violence and Crime within the Follow-Up Committee held an extensive meeting yesterday, Monday, with the participation of the professional group that led the Community Immunity Conference, which took place on September 20 last in Sakhnin, where they discussed the topic of developing a practical program to implement the plans resulting from the conference.
The Follow-Up Committee stated that "naturally, the killing of the two young men yesterday in Kafr Qassem and Araba overshadowed the meeting, namely the late young man Qasem Mahmoud Asala and the student, the late Muhammad Hussein Marzouk, from the towns of Ara and Arara".
Following the meeting and based on its recommendations, communication took place between the head of the Follow-Up Committee, Muhammad Barakeh, and the mayors of Araba and Kafr Qassem, Dr. Ahmad Nassar and attorney Firas Badhi, where it was agreed to organize a national demonstration against the rise in violence and crime, in the city of Araba, on Saturday, November 1 at three in the afternoon, in addition to a number of steps that were approved locally in the aftermath of the two crimes.
The Follow-Up Committee also decided, in consultation with the national committee of heads of local Arab authorities, to organize a national demonstration in front of the Prime Minister's office in Jerusalem on Sunday, November 9, 2025.
The Follow-Up Committee called for "broad participation from all our villages and cities in the Araba march and the Jerusalem demonstration to raise a popular cry against violence and crime".
