The Occupation Accuses a Young Man from Jisr al-Zarqa of Collaborating with an 'Iranian Agent'

SadaNews - The Israeli occupation's public prosecution presented, on Thursday, to the Central Court in Haifa an indictment against a young man named Ahmad Shihab (32 years old) from the village of Jisr al-Zarqa, accusing him of "transmitting news information about missile landing sites during the war with Iran for the benefit of an Iranian entity."

The prosecution charged the defendant with "communicating with a foreign agent and providing information to the enemy that could benefit him."

According to the indictment, "During the war with Iran, the accused communicated via the Telegram app with a person claiming to be a German journalist, and he promised him payment in exchange for information about the landing sites of Iranian missiles in the occupied territories. The prosecution alleged that "the accused realized that the person was a foreign agent working for Iran; however, he sent him, on several occasions, news information about missile landing sites and the damages caused, which he gathered from Hebrew news sites. Overall, Shihab transmitted about 40 pieces of information in exchange for approximately 1,200 shekels transferred via PayPal."

The indictment mentions that "as part of this communication, the Iranian agent asked the accused to take pictures of the missile landing sites himself, and even sent him a camera designated for this purpose, but Shihab was unable to receive it. After a while, the accused asked the Iranian agent to transfer the money to him in cash instead of through the app, at which point the agent directed him to a café in Haifa, where he secretly met another person who handed him an envelope containing around 3,000 shekels in cash."
