Death of Driver in Traffic Accident in Haifa
SadaNews - A private vehicle driver was killed early Wednesday morning in a horrific traffic accident that occurred on Route 2 near the city of Haifa, after his car collided with the rear of a truck that was parked on the side of the road, leading to the complete ignition of the vehicle.
The occupying police announced that the accident caused a partial closure of Highway 2 and disrupted traffic in the area, indicating that traffic and emergency teams are present at the site, and they urged drivers to exercise caution and avoid driving while tired or losing focus.
Data from the Road Safety Authority showed that 357 people, including 105 Arab citizens, have died in traffic accidents since the beginning of 2025 until today.
Statistics indicate a dangerous increase in the number of casualties, with 352 fatalities recorded by the end of September, averaging more than 39 victims per month, and just nine more than the total casualties for 2023, making 2025 a contender to be the deadliest year in nearly 18 years.
