The Network Demands the UNICEF Executive Director Retract Her Statement and Apologize to the Children of Gaza
SadaNews - The Palestinian Network of NGOs condemned the statement issued today by UNICEF Executive Director Catherine Russell, which ignored the genocide against the children of Gaza that has been documented by UNICEF itself, along with other international humanitarian and rights organizations.
The network indicates that although UNICEF has played a role in providing some important services, its recent statement, which disregarded the martyrdom of over 20,000 Palestinian children and the starvation of two million people in Gaza, half of whom are children, is inconsistent with the principles of humanitarian work.
The network emphasized the necessity for UNICEF to apologize to the children and women of Gaza for its neglect and silence regarding the genocide they are facing and to retract its policy of discriminatory omission against the children of Palestine.
The network affirmed that it will continue to defend the principles of humanitarian work, international law, and the Palestinian narrative before all international and local institutions and bodies.
