Civic Organizations: The Resilience Fleet is a Human Cry to Stop the Suffering
SadaNews - The Palestinian Network of Civic Organizations condemned the occupation forces for attacking and storming the Resilience Fleet, and for arresting dozens of activists among the international supporters who came with a highly significant humanitarian message in light of the ongoing crimes of extermination, starvation, and total war as part of the annexation plan and what is called the imposition of sovereignty. The crime committed by the occupation against the fleet began last night, Wednesday, and lasted for several hours in a brutal manner, as part of the continuous series of crimes against the Palestinian people, completely disregarding all international norms and treaties.
The network confirmed that the piracy of the occupation against 40 ships out of 44, which carried about 500 international supporters including academics, parliamentarians, doctors, lawyers, feminist activists, and civil society organizations from 40 countries around the world, not only represents a blatant violation of international law that must be confronted, but immediate punitive measures must also be taken against the occupying power, compelling it to release the activists who were detained and ensure their freedom immediately. At the same time, the occupying government bears full responsibility for their lives and is called upon to restrain the aggression of the occupation on civilian ships and boats at sea carrying food and medicine to the besieged Gaza Strip, amid the ongoing extermination crime being committed against it for the twenty-third consecutive month and following the announcement of the area as a humanitarian disaster by the United Nations after nearly 16 years of unjust siege.
The network viewed the behavior of the occupation in storming the boats, sinking many of them, and leading others to "Ashdod" port without knowing the fate of those on board, as the same behavior based on the logic of force and disregard for international law, as the occupation state showed no concern for the presence of elderly people, artists, or lawyers. The storming operation occurred in full view and hearing of the world, in blatant defiance of the international will, which is now overdue to seriously move to impose a complete boycott on the occupying state and strengthen the steps initiated by many countries to halt trade agreements with it and activate the legal tools permitted by local courts in many countries to hold the officials in the occupying state accountable and not let them escape punishment, thus achieving humanitarian justice by contributing to alleviating the injustice suffered by the Palestinian people and their adherence to their legitimate, inalienable rights, which they defend and will not concede, whatever the cost may be.
