Bayt Mal Al-Quds Agency Supports the Elderly Club of the Annunciation Association with Sports Equipment
SadaNews - The Bayt Mal Al-Quds Ash-Sharif Agency provided support today, Tuesday, to the Elderly Club under the Annunciation Charity Association for Catholics in the Old City of Jerusalem, by supplying it with sports equipment and tools designated for implementing health and recreational programs for the elderly women enrolled in the club.
The Executive Director of the association, Tania Awaad, confirmed that the club includes about 60 elderly women from various neighborhoods of the Old City, offering them a variety of activities, including sports and laughter therapy workshops. She noted that this equipment came after a long wait, thanks to the generous support of King Mohammed VI, President of the Jerusalem Committee, and the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Ash-Sharif Agency.
For her part, Bianca Tarjuman, the supervisor of the sports program at the association, explained that the participating women meet weekly for activities that include educational lectures and lessons in nutrition, arts, and sports, in addition to psychological support sessions.
She added, "Sports is very important, especially for elderly women; it enhances physical and mental health and provides independence. Today, thanks to this equipment, training will be more effective and of higher quality," expressing gratitude to the agency for this support.
This project comes as part of a series of initiatives implemented by the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Ash-Sharif Agency in the holy city to support various community groups and strengthen their resilience.
