SadaNews - The President of the Republic of Slovenia, Nataša Pirc Musar, received the President of the Palestinian Journalists' Union, Nasser Abu Bakr, who is visiting Slovenia at the invitation of the Slovenian Journalists' Association.

During the meeting, President Musar strongly condemned the attacks on Palestinian journalists and the serious violations of human rights and international humanitarian law in Gaza and other conflict areas, emphasizing that these issues will be part of her speech before the United Nations General Assembly. She also expressed her solidarity with the Palestinian people, affirming that Palestinians deserve peace, security, and dignified living in their independent state, and that Slovenia will continue its supportive stance for the establishment of a Palestinian state and a two-state solution.

The Prime Minister of Slovenia Emphasizes His Support for Palestinian Journalists' Work

Slovenian Prime Minister Robert Golob emphasized his strong support for the work of Palestinian journalists, confirming that his government will continue to do everything it can to assist the Palestinian people.

This came during his meeting with the President of the Palestinian Journalists' Union, Nasser Abu Bakr, in the presence of Alenka Bratušek, President of the Union of Journalists in Slovenia, Maja Sever, President of the European Federation of Journalists, and Helena Milenković, President of the Union of Journalists in Slovenian Radio and Television.

The meeting discussed the conditions of Palestinian journalists, who are considered among the most targeted groups in armed conflicts throughout history, particularly during the war on Gaza. It was confirmed that targeting and killing Palestinian journalists and their families is a deliberate act by Israeli occupation forces aimed at preventing media coverage of events in Gaza.
