The Egyptian Foundation and the Prime Minister Launch the Comprehensive National Spatial Plan 2050
SadaNews - Ramallah - Today, Thursday, the Muneeb and Angela Al-Masri Foundation and the Prime Minister's Office launched the Comprehensive National Spatial Plan for the State of Palestine, during an event held at the Prime Minister's office, following its official approval by the Palestinian Cabinet.
The event was attended by Prime Minister Dr. Mohammad Mustafa, several ministers, along with consuls and diplomatic representatives from Norway, France, Britain, Spain, Ireland, and the European Union, as well as a group of experts and leaders.
This launch comes after five years of continuous work, beginning in 2020 based on a memorandum of understanding signed between the foundation and the Ministry of Local Government, and overseen by the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation, in coordination with relevant ministries and institutions.
The plan reflects the national vision adopted by the foundation for the future of Palestine, serving as a strategic framework for balanced and sustainable development, and a roadmap extending to 2050 and beyond.
The project will now move to the second phase, involving the establishment of an executable plan that includes a clear timeline and assignment of responsibilities to advance towards achieving the desired objectives of the plan, along with mobilizing the necessary local and international financing to implement its outputs from vital programs and projects, including reconstruction in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including Jerusalem, as well as sustainable development projects that pave the way for building an independent Palestinian state.
The plan will also be adopted as a reference framework for developmental, strategic plans and national policies at the national, regional, and sectoral levels, ensuring that government developmental budgets for the next five years are linked to the specified programs and projects, in addition to establishing monitoring and evaluation mechanisms that ensure an integrated system for feedback and continuous development.
In this context, the Muneeb and Angela Al-Masri Foundation will continue its active support of the plan through its three phases, in complete partnership with the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation until its completion.
In his speech during the event, Muneeb Rashid Al-Masri stated: "This is a pivotal moment that not only announces a plan but also declares resilience and will. It is a clear announcement of our political, cultural, and economic will. We are charting the outlines of a future Palestine, a state based on human values, free from wars, displacement, and borders, a model to be emulated in a world striving for peace and coexistence."
Prime Minister Dr. Mohammad Mustafa also confirmed in his speech that the plan embodies a comprehensive vision for building the Palestinian state, including transportation and communication networks, water and energy sources, economic development areas, new urban centers, and vital facilities. He added that the national developmental spatial plan is a clear declaration of the will of a people determined to stay, and of a state capable of building and advancing despite all challenges.
In this way, the Muneeb and Angela Al-Masri Foundation reaffirms its steadfast commitment to support national and developmental projects that ensure every Palestinian's right to live with dignity, enhancing the path of construction and resilience towards a future that is more just and prosperous.
