Civil Organizations: We Demand an Immediate Comprehensive National Meeting for All Palestinian Forces and Components

SadaNews - In the context of the ongoing aggression against the Gaza Strip for 713 days and the expansion of what is referred to as the (military operation) in the city of Gaza and vast areas of the central sector, displacing more families who are victims of the brutal bombardment, and destroying and erasing large parts of the city of Gaza, its towers, and buildings amidst threats of total destruction after deploying tanks around it in preparation for an incursion, which threatens about 650,000 citizens with forced displacement again. Reports from the United Nations indicate that more than 86% of the Gaza Strip is under the orders of the occupying forces, which will exacerbate humanitarian suffering and lead to more victims of starvation and the ongoing catastrophic genocide.

At the same time, the so-called (imposition of sovereignty) in the West Bank continues unabated through a series of occupying steps, including colonial settlement policies, home demolitions, and the installation of over 1200 iron gates, cutting the connections of Palestinian land alongside its economic war and the theft of "clearing" funds, tightening the noose on all aspects of life to create an environment that drives the implementation of forced displacement plans and the construction of ghettos through an apartheid system unmatched in the world.

As the Palestinian National NGO Network, with everything happening and in light of continued global popular movements, the convening of the new session of the United Nations, and the prevention of the Palestinian delegation's participation after being refused visas to enter the United States, and in light of the looming dangers to the future of the Palestinian people's national cause, we affirm the following:

- We call on the High Contracting Parties to the 1949 Geneva Conventions to take immediate action with tangible steps to stop the aggression and the ongoing genocide against the Palestinian people, activate the provisions of international law that could seriously pressure to stop the massacre in the Gaza Strip, allow the entry of aid, and halt what the occupation forces call the "new phase" to reoccupy the city of Gaza and the crimes that may result from it against unarmed civilians.

- We call and demand the leadership of the Palestine Liberation Organization and Palestinian factions to convene an urgent meeting that includes all Palestinian forces, civil society institutions, labor and professional unions, and community bodies to restore unity based on the Beijing Agreement through an urgent national meeting in a comprehensive national dialogue to set up a work program to act at all local, regional, and international levels to protect the legitimate national rights guaranteed by all United Nations resolutions, including the right of return, self-determination, and national independence.

- Simultaneously with the convening of the United Nations General Assembly and the discussion of recognizing the State of Palestine and the announcement of many influential countries' intention to officially recognize it, we emphasize the importance of working towards declaring it a state under occupation, ending all obligations of the Palestinian Authority in light of the open war waged against the Palestinian people, demanding an end to the occupation of the lands of the State of Palestine, and working to hold general elections for the presidency, legislative council, and national council under the auspices of the United Nations and the oversight of relevant international bodies.

- Work towards providing international protection for the Palestinian people under occupation until all forms of occupation are ended and addressing the issues arising from the protection matter within the framework of international law and under the UN and its institutions.

- Emphasize the geographic and political connection of the West Bank, including Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip, as a single geographical and political unit that the world must act immediately to compel the occupying forces to stop their open war and racist measures therein.

- Demand the United Nations to suspend the membership of the occupying state, impose international sanctions on it, and boycott it until it complies with international law and stops its apartheid policies and the open genocide war and crimes and state terrorism against the Palestinian people. We stress here the expansion of international initiatives and movements to suspend and stop trade agreements with it, as it poses a threat to international peace and security.

- Declare settler gangs as terrorist organizations outside the law that practice state terrorism with the official support and cover of the occupying government, preventing them from entering the territories of states that allow this under their local laws, and working to arrest them upon entry and bring them, along with the entire military and political system of the occupation, before international courts and place them on the international blacklist.
