SadaNews - President Mahmoud Abbas spoke with the Tunisian director of "The Voice of Hind Rajab," Kawthar Ben Hania, and the Palestinian director of "Palestine 36," Ann-Marie Jasser.
He praised "Director Ben Hania's role in conveying the voice of the Palestinian martyr child Hind Rajab to the world through her film "The Voice of Hind Rajab," which won the Silver Lion at the Venice Film Festival, received support from global cinema stars, and will participate in many festivals and screenings around the world.
Abbas also commended Director Jasser for highlighting the Palestinian cause through the films she produces, most recently "Palestine 36," which focuses on the Palestinian revolution during the British mandate.
He emphasized the "role of cinema, theater, and culture in defending the just causes of peoples, promoting the Palestinian narrative, and garnering further support and advocacy for the Palestinian cause and the rights of our people to freedom and independence."
