Civic Organizations: The Occupation's Aim in Hebron is to Fragment the Unity of Palestinian Territories, Reinforcing Plans for Annexation and Israelization
SadaNews - The network of Palestinian civic organizations emphasizes the importance of confronting the declared Israeli plan, known as the annexation plan, and the imposition of sovereignty over the occupied West Bank, which has taken a more dangerous and escalating turn recently through a series of steps aimed at undermining any manifestations of Palestinian authority, tightening the noose through policies of collective punishment, closures, unleashing settlers, and providing them with more weapons (more than 100,000 new firearms), in addition to expanding the policy of home demolitions, preventing construction, and confiscating land as part of a comprehensive and broad plan to cement the reality of occupation, revive the (civil administration), and eliminate any possibility of establishing a Palestinian state in the future.
What has been happening in Hebron Governorate over the past few days, through incidents, statements, and on-ground steps such as transferring dozens of iron gates to separate and divide the governorate, is in the context of tearing apart the unity of Palestinian territories and transforming them into scattered enclaves and prisons. This exemplifies the broader "Israelization" plan, which aims to transform the West Bank into what is known as fragmented emirates, tightening the occupation's grip over it. The recent arrest of the mayor, Mr. Taysir Abu Sneina, is yet another attempt to prevent any dissenting voices against the new reality, in light of the stance of the clans that also expressed their rejection of the occupation's guardianship and any malicious attempts to separate Hebron Governorate from the Palestinian provinces and its natural extension with the West Bank, imposing leaderships that cooperate with the occupation, which our people will not accept.
The network of Palestinian civic organizations, in addressing the people of our nation in Hebron and their steadfast stance against the occupation's measures, emphasizes the importance of uniting efforts and strengthening internal cohesion and resilience to maintain Palestinian existence in the face of these plans, in accordance with a comprehensive national plan that rejects forced displacement. This reflects the continuation of the open war of extermination against our people in the Gaza Strip, aspiring to empty the land of its rightful owners and cement the occupation, which has led the extremist right-wing government to boast and declare openly about changing the face of the Middle East (and Greater Israel). The network underscores the significance of national unity and comprehensive national dialogue to end the division according to a national program that safeguards the national rights of the Palestinian people and defends them, and to block the occupation's attempts to undermine our people’s existence in their land. It emphasizes the integration of efforts at all official and civil society levels to transform Hebron into a model of steadfastness and national and grassroots resilience in the face of forced displacement policies and to support the means of survival in all available forms.
