Massive Protest in Argentina Condemns Genocide in Gaza and Rejects Netanyahu's Possible Visit

SadaNews - The Argentine capital witnessed a massive public demonstration attended by thousands, called by the Argentine Committee for Solidarity with the Palestinian people, to condemn the genocide in Gaza and to reject the Argentine government's invitation to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to visit the country.

The protesters raised Palestinian and Argentine flags side by side, in a scene symbolizing the unity of solidarity between the two peoples.

They also carried placards supporting the Palestinian people and their struggle against the occupation, as well as their steadfastness on their land, and other placards condemning the genocide in Gaza, the Israeli policy of ethnic cleansing, and the use of siege and hunger as weapons against civilians, in addition to the ongoing aggression in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, the policy of settlement expansion, and the aggression of settlers against Palestinians.

The gathered crowd called for an end to the massacres and for holding Israel accountable for its crimes and for prosecuting its leaders before international courts, while also firmly rejecting the potential visit of the occupying government head to Argentina, stressing the need to arrest him immediately upon entering Argentine territory in implementation of the international arrest warrants issued against him.

To highlight the scale of the humanitarian tragedy, the protesters raised pictures of martyrs and journalists targeted by the occupying forces, along with dolls wrapped in blood-stained shrouds, representing the child martyrs who are killed by Israel cold-bloodedly every day.

The march reflected broad unity among civil society organizations, including trade unions, student and cultural groups, Arab and Jewish organizations opposing Zionism, as well as leftist political parties and human rights organizations.

Representatives from the Union of Palestinian Argentine Entities, the Palestinian community, trade unionists, and parliamentarians from various progressive forces delivered speeches expressing their solidarity with the Palestinian people and their rejection of genocide, occupation, and the annexation policy in the West Bank and Jerusalem, and the fragmentation of the West Bank aimed at killing the chances of peace and the two-state solution, calling for the freedom of the Palestinian people and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.

This demonstration coincided with similar events in several Argentine cities, including Cordoba, Rosario, Santa Fe, Salta, Mar del Plata, Neuquén, and Ushuaia, as part of a national Argentine wave of solidarity with the Palestinian cause and a rejection of the Israeli occupation and the annexation of the West Bank.
