Young man killed in shooting incident in Upper Galilee

SadaNews - In a tragedy that shook the town of Nahf in the Upper Galilee, northern Israel, the nurse Yazan Muhammad Qadri (32 years old) was killed early Monday morning in a shooting incident in front of his home, after the perpetrators knocked on his door and shot him at point-blank range.

Yazan, who had been married for only two years and was a father to a young child, was taken from us in a shocking scene that left the townspeople deeply saddened and angry at the spread of violence and crime.

Following the crime, educational institutions in Nahf announced a suspension of the new school year’s opening and a strike for two days, Monday and Tuesday, in mourning for the soul of the deceased and to allow parents and students to support the grieving family.

A joint statement signed by the head of the local council in Nahf, Muhammad Zouri, stated: "With hearts filled with sadness and profound sorrow, we received the news of the murder of our dear townsman Yazan Muhammad Qadri."

The statement continued: "In light of the gravity of the tragedy and the difficulty of the situation, it was decided to suspend education in the village schools today and tomorrow, allowing space for students and parents to comfort each other and stand by the family of the deceased in this great sorrow."

Four murders within hours and the death toll in the Arab community rises to 170

Violent crimes continue to claim lives in the Arab community at a terrifying rate, as nurse Qadri was shot dead in front of his house, just hours after three other murders.

In the city of Jaffa, Raed Hamza Sokhfi (41 years old) was killed in a shooting that occurred on Sunday evening.

In the city of Akka, young man Muhammad Mahmoud Ntor (27 years old) fell victim to another shooting incident in the market earlier on the same day.

In the city of Tayibe, young man Mu'tasim Nasirat, in his forties, was killed in a shooting that occurred after midnight between Saturday and Sunday.

Thus, the death toll from murders in the Arab community since the beginning of this year has risen to 170, including 167 Arabs and residents, among them 17 women.

Data indicates that 142 of the victims were killed by gunfire, while 84 of them were under the age of thirty, including three who were killed before reaching the age of 18. There were also 9 recorded cases of killings by the police.

These shocking figures come amid a surge in murders and violent events, with increasing accusations against the police of failing to fulfill their role in curbing crime and holding criminals accountable.
