Young Man Accused of "Incitement to Terrorism and Expressions of Support for a Terrorist Organization" in the Negev

SadaNews - The Israeli occupying authorities' public prosecution submitted an indictment to the court in Be'er Sheva, located in the Negev region of southern Israel, against a young man (19 years old) from one of the Arab Bedouin communities, accusing him of "incitement to terrorism and expressing support for a terrorist organization."

The prosecution attached a request for the young man's detention until the completion of legal proceedings against him, according to their claims.

The occupying police claimed that "following a secret investigation by members of the "Ayarot" police station in the southern district, a serious indictment was filed against a young man (19 years old) from one of the Bedouin communities in the Negev, after he expressed solidarity and support for the Hamas terrorist organization."

It was alleged that he "quoted statements from the Hamas spokesperson Abu Obeida, mourned the death of Hamas members, and shared propaganda clips against Israel."

The police declared that "in recent weeks, a secret investigation was conducted in the Crimes Division of the "Ayarot" police station regarding suspicions of incitement to terrorism and affiliation with the terrorist organizations Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad."

They added that "during the investigation, suspicions emerged against a young man (19 years old) from the Bedouin community in the Negev, as he published inciting and supportive posts for the Hamas terrorist organization on social media. As the investigation moved to the public stage, members of the "Ayarot" police raided the suspect's home, detained him, and referred him for interrogation. Following an intensive investigation and establishing a basis of evidence, the southern district prosecution (criminal division) submitted a serious indictment against the suspect, attributing to him four counts of incitement to terrorism and expressing support for a terrorist organization, along with a request for his detention until the end of the proceedings."
