Sheikh Meets Bethlehem Mayor and Emphasizes the Importance of Protecting the City’s Religious and Touristic Components
SadaNews - Today, Sunday, the Vice President of the State of Palestine, Mr. Hussein Sheikh, met with the Mayor of Bethlehem, Maher Qanouti, during which the latest political, economic, and tourism developments in Palestine were reviewed.
During the meeting, Sheikh emphasized the special status of Bethlehem city due to its unique Christian religious components, which are among the most prominent Christian religious landmarks in the world, stressing the necessity of preserving and safeguarding them as a human, spiritual, and cultural heritage.
For his part, Qanouti informed Sheikh about the efforts made by the Bethlehem municipality in the field of promoting tourism and protecting the city’s religious and cultural heritage, emphasizing the importance of national concerted efforts to preserve this heritage.
