Major General Al-Saqa Meets with the Canadian Mission Commander to Discuss Developing and Supporting Police Capabilities
SadaNews - Major General Alaa Al-Saqa, Director General of Police, met today, Wednesday, in his office with Brigadier Jason Langille, Commander of the Canadian Security Mission, and the accompanying delegation, to discuss ways to enhance the capabilities of the Palestinian police and the necessary support to elevate its performance. During the meeting, Brigadier Langille emphasized the importance of enhancing police capabilities to achieve the best professional standards, ensuring the provision of distinguished services to citizens.
He also praised the level of cooperation between the Canadian police and their Palestinian counterparts, referring to the recent visit by a number of Palestinian police officers to Canada, and expressed his country's readiness to support the organization of more training courses in various policing fields.
For his part, Major General Al-Saqa stressed the importance of developing and building the capacities of police personnel, and the necessity of providing logistical and training support to ensure the continuity of police development and enhance the efficiency of its workers, to provide the best policing services that respect modernity and development and operate according to the best international standards, preserving the dignity of citizens and safeguarding their rights under the law.
He also expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Canadian side for its continuous support and assistance to the Palestinian police.
The meeting was attended by Legal Adviser Colonel Laith Zidan, Assistant Director General of Police for the Police General Directorate, and Legal Adviser Abu Zunid, Director of the Training Department.
