Occupation Arrests 33 Workers from Um Tuba Village South of Jerusalem
SadaNews - Israeli occupation forces arrested 33 workers from Um Tuba village, south of Jerusalem, early on Monday.
Local sources reported that the occupation forces stormed a residential apartment in the village and arrested 33 workers from the West Bank on the grounds of "not possessing permits".
In recent months, hundreds of workers have been subjected to arrest and abuse by the Israeli police inside the 1948 territories or by the occupation forces in Jerusalem, under the pretext of "not having permits".
Workers who do have permits also face many restrictions when heading to their workplaces, as they begin their day very early before dawn, waiting for hours at the military checkpoints, and undergoing humiliating searches before reaching their jobs.
It is noted that more than 150,000 workers from the West Bank have lost their jobs inside the 1948 territories due to the Israeli restrictions imposed since October 7, 2023, according to a World Bank report.
