Man Killed in Shooting Incident in the Negev within the 48 Territories
SadaNews - A man in his fifties was killed in a shooting incident in the town of Shaqab al-Salam in the Negev within the 48 territories, early this Saturday morning, while several incidents in various Arab towns in the Negev and Galilee resulted in injuries ranging from moderate to serious.
This comes amid a surge and escalation of murder crimes and acts of violence, while the Israeli police are failing to perform their role in curbing crime within the Arab society.
In 2024, there have been 221 murders reported in the Arab community, compared to 222 murder cases recorded in 2023.
The death toll since the beginning of this year has risen to 154, including 15 women. It was found that 132 of the victims were killed by gunfire, with 75 of them being under the age of thirty, including 3 who were killed before reaching the age of 18, while 9 were killed by the police.
This year has also seen an increase of approximately 13% in the number of victims of violence compared to the same period last year, when the number of victims was 132.
