Journalists' Syndicate: A Bloody July with the Martyrdom of 6 Journalists and 11 Family Members, Along with 10 Serious Injuries Recorded
SadaNews - The Palestinian Journalists' Syndicate confirmed the ongoing targeting of the journalistic situation in Palestine by the Israeli occupation system in general, and specifically in the Gaza Strip, through a series of crimes, assaults, and violations, reaching the point of being targeted by rockets from aircraft, artillery shells, and machine gun fire.
The Syndicate's Freedoms Committee issued its monthly report documenting the occupation's crimes against journalists in Palestine for July 2025, highlighting the high level of fire directed by the occupation army at media crews and their families.
The report stated that the Israeli occupation army assassinated six journalists, most of whom were in homes they had fled to or in tents at shelters. Additionally, ten colleagues were on the verge of martyrdom when they were targeted and sustained serious injuries from shrapnel or gunfire during their journalistic assignments.
Meanwhile, eleven first-degree family members of journalists - such as spouses, parents, or siblings - were martyred simply for the 'crime' of their children's journalistic profession.
Furthermore, five journalists' homes were destroyed during the past month, and two colleagues were arrested, while four of them faced unfair military courts.
The report added that the methodology of detaining and preventing crews from working is escalating, with 26 documented cases, including five instances of confiscation and destruction of equipment, as well as targeting 14 cases with sound and gas bombs. Four journalists were beaten, and four others faced threats and incitement, while incidents of settler attacks on journalists were also recorded.
