The Assassination of Journalists: A Failed Attempt to Silence the Truth and Prevent the Transfer of Narratives and Images of Hunger to the World

SadaNews - The Palestinian Network of NGOs strongly condemns the crime of the Israeli occupation by assassinating a group of Palestinian journalists inside Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City.

The network indicates that occupation aircraft bombed the journalists' tent at Al-Shifa Hospital, resulting in the martyrdom of journalists Anas Al-Sharif, Mohammad Quraiqi, Ibrahim Zaher, Moamen Aliwa, Mohammad Nawfal, and Mohammad Khalidi.

The network confirms that the cowardly crime of the occupation against journalists is part of a long series of assaults against Palestinian journalists and media outlets who have worked with great sacrifice to convey the truth and expose and document the violations of the occupation with images and words.

The network considers that what the occupation is doing constitutes systematic violations against Palestinian journalists aimed at covering up its crimes and continuing attempts to mislead the international community while preventing international media from entering the Gaza Strip.

The network notes that the assassination of the journalists came at a time when the occupation is escalating its crimes against our people and paving the way for invading what remains of the city of Gaza, committing massacres and forcing mass displacement as the humanitarian disaster in the Gaza Strip intensifies in an attempt to silence the voice of truth.

The network calls on all international parties to provide protection for Palestinian journalists and to seriously pressure to stop the occupation's crimes against them.

The network also demands the establishment of an international commission of inquiry into the crimes of the occupation against Palestinian journalists and holding the occupation accountable and bringing it to international justice.

The network extends its heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the families of the martyrs and their colleagues, as well as to Al Jazeera and all Palestinian journalists.
