The Foreign Ministry Calls for International Measures and Sanctions to Force the Occupation to Halt Settler Terrorism Against Our People
SadaNews - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned the escalation of attacks and terrorism by settlers against Palestinian citizens, their towns, lands, properties, and sanctities across the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, under the supervision and protection of the occupation army, as part of a blatant distribution of roles aimed at entrenching control and ongoing gradual annexation of Palestinian land, and imposing a state of intimidation and terror on citizens in their homes.
The Foreign Ministry affirmed in a statement today, Wednesday, that the international failure to halt what our people have been subjected to for nearly two years is unjustifiable, and that the international reactions have not yet reached the level of being able to stop these crimes. It emphasized that the responsibility of states and United Nations bodies, foremost among them the Security Council, must go beyond describing the situation in occupied Palestine and expressions of concern, warning, condemnation statements, and directing demands and appeals to the perpetrators of these crimes.
It called for the necessity of taking practical measures mandated by international law to stop and ensure the immediate halt of the war of extermination, displacement, and annexation, in protection of Palestinian civilians, and to provide an opportunity for implementing the two-state solution and launching a political path to resolve the conflict through political means, away from violence, the cycle of wars, and the arrogance of power.
