Sheikh Welcomes Announcement by Canada, Malta, and Portugal to Recognize the State of Palestine

SadaNews - The Palestinian Vice President, Mr. Hussein Sheikh, welcomed the announcement by Canada, Malta, and Portugal regarding their intention to officially recognize the State of Palestine during the United Nations General Assembly in September 2025.

Sheikh praised in his statement these historic initiatives from these European and Canadian countries, which join many international supporters in achieving a two-state solution and affirming the rights of our people.

Sheikh also expressed his hope that this announcement would translate into concrete steps leading to sustainable peace and international legitimacy for the State of Palestine.
