SadaNews - The Palestinian Journalists Syndicate stated that the Israeli occupation forces have killed 232 journalists and media workers since the onset of the genocidal war on the Gaza Strip, which began on October 7, 2023, the latest being photojournalist Ibrahim Hajjaj.
In a statement on Wednesday, the syndicate mourned its colleague Hajjaj, who was martyred due to Israeli shelling targeting the Al-Daraj neighborhood in Gaza City while documenting the crimes of the occupation, stressing that Hajjaj's message will remain alive despite all attempts to kill and intimidate.
The syndicate considered the targeting of Hajjaj and other journalists as a systematic policy of field execution aimed at silencing the voice of Palestinian truth and intimidating media professionals, holding the occupation fully responsible for this crime, and calling on the international community to act immediately to protect journalists and hold the killers accountable.
