Rahat: The Public Prosecution Accuses Two Young Men of Murdering the Victim Mufeed Abu Sharab
SadaNews - The public prosecution submitted an indictment to the central court in Beersheba today, Wednesday, against Adi Al-Obeid (28 years old) and Abdullah Al-Obeid (19 years old) from the city of Rahat in the Negev region, southern Israel, accusing them of "shooting at the residence of a family with whom they had a dispute, resulting in the death of a family member (crime victim Mufeed Abu Sharab, in his thirties)".
The prosecution charged the defendants with "murder in aggravated circumstances, possession and transfer of firearms, shooting, and intentional harm".
According to the indictment presented by lawyer Aidan Ifgi from the southern district attorney’s office, "there was a dispute between the family of the deceased and the families of the defendants. A few months ago, one of the defendants' relatives arrived at the deceased's house and shouted: 'Where is the crazy one, where is the dog?' The deceased's sister replied that there were no men at home at that time".
The indictment stated that "on that evening, the defendants arrived at the residential complex accompanied by two others, and the other two fired shots in the air. Hours later, while the deceased was sitting with his brother in the yard of the house, the defendants drove with others near the residential complex, armed, and shot at the family-owned car. They then turned back to the residential complex, got out of their vehicle, and approached the entrance of the complex, where they shot at the deceased and his brother with the weapons they possessed. After the shooting stopped, the defendants and their gang fled the scene in their car. The shooting resulted in the death of the deceased and caused significant damage to a family-owned vehicle".
In the request for detention until the proceedings are completed, lawyer Ifgi noted that "it should be emphasized that those who possess firearms and shoot them pose a great danger, especially at this time when the use of firearms in the country has become a scourge threatening the state. Protecting the public requires apprehending those who commit gun crimes".
