Lieutenant General Al-Natsheh: The steadfastness of the leadership and people, and the positions of the Jordanian monarch and the Egyptian president prevented the implementation of the displacement plan in the West Bank and Gaza
SadaNews: The Secretary General of the National Conference for Jerusalem, Lieutenant General Bilal Al-Natsheh, stated that the current phase that our Palestinian people are going through is very dangerous and requires high political acumen to overcome the conspiracies aimed at liquidating the national cause.
Al-Natsheh said in political statements today, Wednesday, that the Palestinian leadership, headed by President Mahmoud Abbas "Abu Mazen," has managed during the past years, especially during the Israeli war on our people in the Gaza Strip, to spare our people in the West Bank from Israeli brutality against Palestinian blood. He also highlighted that the president managed to obtain recognition from several major countries of the Palestinian state under occupation, especially France, which announced through its president, Emmanuel Macron, that this recognition will occur next September, which sparked angry reactions from Israel and the United States.
Al-Natsheh pointed out that the steadfastness of the Palestinian leadership and our people's masses, along with the positions of Jordanian King Abdullah and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, thwarted the Israeli displacement plan in the West Bank and Gaza. He indicated that the leadership's position completely aligns with the positions of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and Egypt, as the Kingdom considers Palestine a homeland for the Palestinian people and Jordan a homeland for the Jordanian people. This is a clear indication and affirmation of the rejection of resettlement and displacement that Israel announced at the beginning of the war and continues to declare while implementing practices on the ground aimed at forcing our people to emigrate voluntarily.
Al-Natsheh considered that the king reinforced the presence of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank on their homeland at the outset of the extermination war waged by Israel since October 7, 2023, when he affirmed that Jordan will not be an alternative homeland for the Palestinian people, and that the latter has the right to establish its independent state on its national soil with East Jerusalem as its capital.
He praised the firm position of the Hashemite leadership that the alternative homeland issue is a rejected matter and is a matter of life or death for this leadership.
Al-Natsheh emphasized that Jordan is the main lung from which our people breathe and relies on the support and backing of the Hashemite leadership for their legitimate right to be liberated from occupation and establish their independent Palestinian state on the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
On the other hand, Al-Natsheh discussed the Israeli violations in Jerusalem, specifically in the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, and addressed the Hashemite custodianship over Islamic and Christian holy sites, stating that the strength of this custodianship has been and continues to be a fundamental deterrent to Israel, preventing it from total control and encroachment on the places of worship for Muslims and Christians, especially the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque which concerns 2 billion Muslims worldwide.
The Secretary General of the National Conference for Jerusalem confirmed that the Hashemite custodianship is a red line that will not be allowed to be crossed, pointing out that the Palestinian leadership, headed by President Mahmoud Abbas, emphasizes this position on all occasions and forums, and that it is a fixed and principled stance that will not change. He also praised President "Abu Mazen" for his complete alignment with the Jordanian monarch's supportive stance for the established Palestinian right. He stated that Israel is working to besiege and weaken this custodianship through daily incursions into the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque and allowing hundreds of settlers to defile it and practice their Talmudic rituals in its courtyards without the slightest consideration for the feelings of about 2 billion Muslims around the world.
Al-Natsheh noted that the history of the Hashemite custodianship over Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem dates back to 1924, when the people of Palestine pledged loyalty to the late Sharif Hussein bin Ali for the custodianship due to his political and religious stature, as he was considered the caliph and leader of the nation.
He stated that the Hashemites have continued to care for the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem to this day; bearing this great trust is linked to a history of Jordanian sacrifices under Hashemite leadership and people towards the Palestinian cause and Jerusalem.
Lieutenant General Al-Natsheh praised the significant and essential role of King Abdullah, pointing out that if it weren't for his interventions and his great concern for Al-Aqsa Mosque, settlers would have swallowed it long ago and established their false temple in its place.
Al-Natsheh also highly appreciated the king's efforts in protecting the Islamic and Christian holy sites in the West Bank, which are subjected to assaults by settlers under the protection of Israeli military forces.
He confirmed that the efforts of the Jordanian monarch reveal to the world the magnitude of the immoral assaults by extremist settlers on Islamic and Christian holy sites in Palestine in general, and Jerusalem in particular.
He emphasized that these efforts are not strange to the Hashemites and their commitment to protecting Islamic and Christian holy sites, calling on the free world to support the king's efforts to stop the Israeli assaults and violations of Islamic and Christian holy sites in all Palestinian territories, specifically in occupied Jerusalem.
The Secretary General of the National Conference for Jerusalem referred to King Abdullah II's initiative to protect and support Christians and their holy sites in the town of Taybeh, east of Ramallah, after the Latin Church there was subjected to assaults by settlers over two weeks ago.
He stated that this initiative sends a message to Israel in particular and to the whole world that the Hashemite custodianship includes all Islamic and Christian holy sites in the Palestinian territories, and that the occupying state must take the necessary steps to restrain its settlers and put an end to their racist attacks on the holy sites in Palestine, stressing that the continuation of such assaults could ignite a religious war in the region.
