Palestine Present at the World Aquatics Championships

SadaNews - The national swimming team is participating in the World Aquatics Championships, taking place in Singapore until August 3, with more than 2,500 male and female swimmers from 201 countries around the world.

Our national team consists of swimmers Valerie Terzi, Marina Abu Shamala, and Mahmoud Abu Gharbieh, under the supervision of coach Raed Milad.

Valerie will compete in the 50-meter butterfly and the 50-meter breaststroke events, while Marina is participating in the 100-meter breaststroke and the 50-meter freestyle. Mahmoud will compete in the 100-meter freestyle and the 50-meter freestyle events.

This participation represents an opportunity for the national team players to improve their personal best times and develop their technical performance by competing at major events with elite athletes from around the world.

On the sidelines of the championship, Fawaz Zalom, the president of the Palestinian Swimming and Aquatic Sports Federation, is participating in the general assembly meetings of the Asian and International Federations.

Zalom pointed out that he is preparing to present a working paper concerning Palestinian swimming and the challenges it faces due to the current difficult circumstances that have hindered the federation's work and its development system.
