SadaNews - The public prosecutor and police have initiated legal proceedings regarding the death of a 53-year-old citizen from Bethlehem at a swimming pool in the city of Beit Jala. The police spokesman, Major Luay Arzeqat, stated that the citizen was declared dead upon arrival at Beit Jala governmental hospital, where the police were notified of the incident. Immediately, a police force, accompanied by the public prosecutor, moved to the scene to take legal actions. The public prosecution ordered the preservation of the body and its transfer to the forensic medicine institute for an autopsy. Investigations and searches have also begun regarding the circumstances of finding a decomposed unidentified body inside a house in Nur Shams camp in Tulkarem Governorate. Major Arzeqat confirmed that the public prosecution ordered the preservation of the body and its referral to forensic medicine to conduct an autopsy and determine the cause of death. In another context, a 43-year-old woman lost her life, and another person was injured due to a self-inflicted traffic accident they encountered in Abu Dis town southeast of occupied Jerusalem. Arzeqat reported that, based on a notification received by the police operations room regarding a traffic accident in a mountainous area in Abu Dis town, the police and ambulance crews promptly moved to assess the accident and assist the injured. Arzeqat added that the accident was caused by a collision with an illegal vehicle driven by a driver, resulting in injuries to him and the woman inside the vehicle sustaining severe injuries. Efforts were made to assist her and transfer her to the hospital, but she succumbed to her injuries. Major Arzeqat confirmed that the vehicle was seized, and the search is ongoing to apprehend the driver, while traffic police opened an investigation into the accident, and the public prosecutor was informed.
