Qalqiliya: Environmental Quality Authority Follows Up on the Closure of Three Random Dumps in Farata and Hajja
SadaNews - The Environmental Quality Authority in Qalqiliya Governorate has been monitoring the closure procedures of three random dumps, one in the village of Farata and two in the village of Hajja, as part of its ongoing efforts to address environmental violations and reduce the impacts of random waste on the environment and public health.
The Environmental Quality Authority reported that the field tour conducted by inspection and monitoring staff aimed to assess compliance with the final closure procedures for these random dumps in accordance with the applicable environmental laws and regulations.
The inspectors of the Environmental Quality Authority had instructed the closure of these dumps, through follow-up and coordination with the relevant authorities, emphasizing that their presence constitutes a clear violation of the provisions of Law No. (7) of 1999 concerning the Environment and its amendments, as well as the provisions of the related executive regulations, due to the environmental damage and health risks they pose to citizens and the environment.
It stressed the necessity of adhering to proper and safe waste disposal procedures to reduce environmental pollution and protect public health and the safety of citizens.
