SadaNews - Young man Abdul Majid Ala Tabaja, in his twenties, was killed in a shooting incident in Haifa early this Tuesday.

Two other individuals were injured in the incident, one of them critically.

A spokesperson for the "Magen David Adom" reported that the emergency center received a notification about a violent incident on "Hatzionut" Avenue in Haifa, where the medical team provided first aid to a young man in his twenties before transferring him to "Rambam" hospital in critical condition, while the other injured person left the scene on their own.

For its part, the police in Haifa have opened an investigation into the shooting incident that occurred in the same area, noting that they are collecting evidence and conducting searches and setting up barriers to locate the suspects.

The police clarified that the motive behind the crime is still under examination without announcing any arrests.

143 Arab fatalities since the beginning of the year

This comes amid a rise in crime within the Arab community, coupled with the Israeli police's negligence, which reaches the level of complicity with criminal organizations, and the absence of government plans to combat crime.

Following the announcement of Abdul Majid Tabaja's death, data showed that in 2025, 143 Arabs have been killed in the country due to violence and crime, including 10 women and a young man from Jerusalem.

It was found that 122 of the victims were killed by gunfire, 73 of whom were under the age of thirty, including 3 who were killed before reaching the age of 18, while 9 were killed by the police.

This year has also seen a 12% increase in the number of violence victims compared to the same period last year, when the number of victims reached 128.

The year 2024 recorded 221 deaths in the Arab community, compared to 222 murders documented in 2023.
