Sheikh Receives a Delegation of Christian Clergy from Jerusalem to Discuss the Implications of the Aggression on Religious Sanctities
SadaNews - The Palestinian Vice President, Mr. Hussein Sheikh, received a delegation of Christian clergy from the city of Jerusalem to discuss the implications of the ongoing Israeli aggression on religious sanctities, particularly the systematic targeting of churches and Christian sites in the Gaza Strip.
The delegation included His Beatitude Patriarch Michel Sabah, His Eminence Bishop Atallah Hanna, His Eminence Bishop William Shomali, His Eminence Bishop Munib Younan, and the President of the Orthodox Club in Ramallah, Dr. Hani Al-Hosari, in the presence of a member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, Dr. Faisal Arnoqi.
The meeting addressed the serious violations affecting Christian sanctities across Palestine, within a broader context of crimes committed by the occupation authorities against the Palestinian people, which include systematic extermination and starvation, and the destruction of places of worship, especially in the Gaza Strip.
Sheikh affirmed that the occupation targets all Palestinians indiscriminately, and that what is happening in the West Bank, especially in the capital Jerusalem, reflects an organized policy aimed at erasing the Palestinian national and religious identity.
He emphasized that the national and humanitarian priority at this stage is to stop this war immediately, rescue our people from the machinery of destruction, protect the sanctities, and preserve the unity of the national fabric in all its components.
