Two Young Men Killed in Shooting Incident in Sha'ab

SadaNews - Two young men in their thirties were killed in a shooting incident that occurred in the city of Sha'ab, within the 1948 territories, on Friday, increasing the number of Arab fatalities since the beginning of this year to 133.

Local sources confirmed that the victims of the double murder were Noor Hariri, a resident of Sha'ab originally from Umm al-Fahm, and Rami Othman from Kabul.

A medical team that arrived at the crime scene reported receiving a notification about "two people injured in a violent incident in the city of Sha'ab."

They added that paramedics confirmed "the death of two men in their thirties, who were unconscious and had suffered penetrating injuries."

One team member stated: "We were directed to the two young men who were unconscious, without pulse or breathing."

Moreover, the same source mentioned that the victims "sustained penetrating injuries to their bodies, and although we conducted medical assessments, their injuries were critical, and we had to declare their death immediately."

133 Arab Fatalities Since the Beginning of the Year

This comes amid a rise in crime within the Arab community, coupled with a lack of action from the Israeli police, which reaches the level of complicity with criminal organizations, and absence of government plans to combat crime.

With this crime, the toll of murder victims in the Arab community since the beginning of 2025 has reached 132, including 9 women; according to official data.

Statistics show that 114 of the victims were killed by gunfire, and 71 of them were 30 years old or younger, while 8 were killed by police personnel.

During the corresponding period last year, 106 individuals were reported killed in circumstances related to crime and violence, indicating the ongoing rise of crime in the Arab community.

In 2024, a total of 221 individuals were killed in the Arab community, compared to 222 murders recorded in 2023.
