Sheikh Discusses Political Situations with the Head of the German Mission in a Farewell Meeting on the Occasion of the End of His Duties
SadaNews - The Vice President of the State of Palestine, Hussein Sheikh, met today in his office in Ramallah with the Head of the German Mission to Palestine, Oliver Oftscha, in a farewell meeting on the occasion of the end of his official duties in Palestine, and Christian Kusters, Head of Political Affairs in the German representative office. They discussed the latest political and field developments in the Palestinian territories, especially in light of the ongoing military escalation in the Gaza Strip and the increasing assaults by settlers in the West Bank, along with the accompanying violations against Palestinian citizens and their properties.
Sheikh emphasized during the meeting the necessity of an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and stopping the assaults by settlers in the West Bank, stressing the importance of reaching a comprehensive political solution that ends the occupation and guarantees the rights of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state on the 1967 borders according to the two-state solution principle and international legitimacy resolutions, calling on Germany for official recognition of the State of Palestine to support the achievement of a just and lasting peace.
