Jerusalem: A Girl Killed by Stabbing in Sur Baher, Father Arrested
SadaNews - A three-year-old girl was killed after being stabbed early this morning, Monday, in the village of Sur Baher in occupied East Jerusalem. The Israeli police announced that they have arrested the girl's father on suspicion of being involved in the murder.
The spokesperson for the Israeli police - Jerusalem District, stated in an official announcement that the emergency center 100 received a report around 4 am about the injury of the girl in a violent incident in the neighborhood.
Immediately, a large force of "Oz" police, in cooperation with border guards, was summoned to the scene, where they closed off the crime scene and began, with the help of forensic experts, to collect evidence and perform intensive search operations for the suspect who fled the scene.
The statement clarified that the medical team that arrived at the site of the incident had to declare the girl dead due to her injuries. Later, the suspect, a 30-year-old resident of the same neighborhood, was quickly located and arrested.
It has become clear at the initial stage that the incident has a criminal background. The police confirmed that investigations are ongoing to examine all circumstances, and that the suspect has been referred for questioning in preparation for completing legal proceedings against him.
