The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority Issues New Instructions in Preparation for the Launch of the Unified Emergency Center 911
SadaNews - The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority has issued new regulatory instructions directed at fixed and mobile telecommunications companies operating in Palestine, as part of its technical and organizational preparations for the launch of the Unified Emergency Center Project (911).
This national project aims to unify the existing emergency numbers for police, civil defense, and ambulance services under a single contact number (911), which contributes to speeding response times to emergency situations, reducing the time needed to reach victims, saving lives, and enhancing coordination among the relevant authorities.
The Authority confirmed that the issued instructions are part of ensuring the readiness of networks and communication systems to connect them to the infrastructure of the Unified Emergency Center, in accordance with best practices and international standards in this field, thus enhancing the efficiency of services provided to citizens in emergency cases.
This project is considered one of the national priority initiatives, which will significantly contribute to improving the quality of emergency response in Palestine and increasing the readiness of related security, medical, and service institutions.
