Gaza Municipality: Continued Displacement Crisis and Lack of Resources Worsen Humanitarian Catastrophe
SadaNews - The Gaza Municipality confirmed on Friday that the ongoing displacement crisis and lack of resources are exacerbating the humanitarian catastrophe the city is experiencing, intensifying severe thirst and posing health and environmental disasters.
The municipality indicated in a statement that it has been forced to reduce basic services due to the unavailability of fuel and other resources.
It clarified that its top priority is to operate wells and water stations due to the urgent need for water, amidst the displacement of citizens from the northern governorate and the eastern neighborhoods of the city.
It noted an increase in the population by nearly 50%, bringing the current number to about 1.2 million people, concentrated in an area less than half of the total area of the city.
