Kyiv Summons U.S. Diplomate Following Washington's Decision to Halt Military Aid
SadaNews - The Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the U.S. Chargé d'Affaires in Kyiv, John Jinkal, after the announcement that Washington is suspending the delivery of certain weapons to Ukraine, including "Patriot" missiles.
This was reported by the "New York Times," citing a statement from the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, which stated: "The main issue of the conversation with the U.S. diplomat was American military aid and defense cooperation between the two countries, where the Ukrainian side emphasized that any delay or hesitation in supporting Ukraine's defense capabilities will only lead to the continuation of war, rather than seeking peace."
The newspaper reported, citing sources, that Washington would suspend the supply of interceptor missiles for the "Patriot" air defense system, precision-guided GMLRS munitions, Hellfire guided missiles, Stinger portable missile systems, and some other weapons to Kyiv.
Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov stated at the end of June that some shipments of American weapons are still ongoing to Ukraine, while others have been halted.
