"Tasnim": Bazikan approves law to suspend cooperation with the atomic agency, signaling its implementation
SadaNews - The Iranian parliament sent the law to suspend cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency, to President Masoud Bazikan for official notification and its implementation, according to the constitutional procedures followed.
The Iranian parliament approved on June 25, 2025, a bill requiring the government to suspend all forms of cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency, which was later ratified by the Guardian Council, making it mandatory for the Iranian government.
Bazikan immediately issued a decree to suspend cooperation with the agency.
Iranian media reported that Bazikan officially informed the International Atomic Energy Agency about the suspension of cooperation.
The new law stipulates a ban on the entry of agency inspectors into the country unless the security of Iranian nuclear facilities is ensured, and the implementation of the decision is also subject to the approval of the Supreme National Security Council in Iran.
This Iranian escalation comes in response to what Tehran described as "the agency's silence regarding the recent American and Israeli attacks" against its nuclear facilities, with Iranian authorities stating that this law embodies the will of the Iranian people and represents a clear response to the "illegal attacks" the country faces.
