National Bank Launches 'Tap to Pay' Service for Android Devices
SadaNews - The National Bank announced the launch of a contactless payment service via smartphones operating on the Android system using "Tap to Pay" technology, in a new step that reflects its ongoing commitment to developing its digital system and enhancing smart payment solutions in the Palestinian market.
The service allows the bank's customers to link their bank cards issued by the bank, whether credit or direct payment cards, through the bank's application on Android devices, and then make payment transactions directly by passing the phone near point-of-sale devices without the need to use the plastic card.
Commenting on the launch of the service, the CEO of the National Bank, Salama Khalil, stated, "We are proud to launch the Tap to Pay service for Android devices, which is one of the latest digital payment solutions enabling our customers to make purchases easily and securely through their smartphones without needing to carry the physical card. This service comes as an extension of our commitment to providing distinguished banking solutions that meet customers' aspirations in the era of digital transformation, as we recently launched Apple Pay for our customers using iOS devices, and today we have completed smart payment services for the rest of our customer base."
The service relies on the highest standards of protection and security, through advanced encryption technologies and the replacement of card data with a secure digital code (Tokenization), along with supporting biometric authentication methods such as fingerprint scanning or facial recognition, thereby enhancing customer data protection and reducing the risks of fraud.
