Arab Bank's Community Initiatives During Ramadan Reach Over 30,000 Beneficiaries
SadaNews - The Arab Bank implemented a series of community initiatives and activities during the holy month of Ramadan, benefiting more than 30,000 people across various governorates. These initiatives are part of the bank's social responsibility program "Together" which focuses on supporting the most needy groups and enhancing efforts for sustainable community development.
These initiatives included providing iftar meals for fasting individuals, benefiting more than 13,300 people. The meals were distributed to the poorest families in coordination with several local associations concerned with serving the most needy groups, aiming to alleviate the living burdens on underprivileged families and to enhance the values of solidarity and compassion embodied by the holy month of Ramadan.
The bank also distributed more than 2,000 food parcels to needy families, benefiting nearly 10,200 people in eight different governorates, in cooperation with the Palestinian Ministry of Social Development and its directorates in those areas, as part of the joint efforts to provide essential needs for families in need during the holy month.
The initiatives also included organizing charitable iftars and recreational activities benefiting about 6,500 individuals from among the elderly, orphans, children with disabilities, and the visually impaired, in an atmosphere dominated by social harmony and solidarity. Additionally, visits were made to children suffering from cancer and kidney disease patients at Augusta Victoria Hospital in Jerusalem, aiming to provide psychological and moral support and to bring joy to the hearts of children coinciding with the near arrival of Eid al-Fitr.
These initiatives featured active participation from Arab Bank employees with over 220 volunteer contributions that included activities for preparing and packaging food parcels and iftar meals, as well as their participation in organizing charitable iftars and various recreational activities. This reflects the culture of volunteerism and the spirit of giving that the bank strives to instill among its employees and encourage their active contribution in serving the community.
Commenting on these initiatives, Dr. Jamal Hurani, Manager of the Palestine Area at Arab Bank, stated: "These initiatives reflect the Arab Bank's ongoing commitment to its role in supporting and developing local communities, as we aim to achieve a positive, tangible, and sustainable impact that contributes to supporting the poorest groups and enhancing the values of solidarity and cohesion." He added: "The holy month of Ramadan holds a special place due to its human and social meanings that enhance the spirit of solidarity and giving. We are also delighted with the active participation of the bank's employees in these voluntary initiatives, which reflect the culture of mutual assistance and teamwork and the sense of responsibility that we aim to instill in our employees."
It is worth noting that the Arab Bank adopts a comprehensive strategy in the field of sustainability and social responsibility aimed at achieving a positive and tangible impact on both economic and social levels, alongside its commitment to sustainable environmental practices. The Arab Bank's social responsibility program "Together" embodies this approach by supporting a diverse range of initiatives that serve vital sectors including education, health, poverty alleviation, environmental protection, women's empowerment, and care for orphans, in cooperation with local community institutions.
