National Bank Partners with Think Palestine Association and the Palestinian Ministry of Health in the National Newborn Hearing Screening Project
SadaNews - In collaboration with the Palestinian Ministry of Health, the Think Palestine Association and its partners, including the National Bank, have announced the launch of the national newborn hearing screening project, a program that ensures every newborn in Palestine receives screening to detect any potential congenital hearing disorders early, allowing for timely intervention to increase treatment opportunities.
Through the association and its partners, the Palestinian Ministry of Health and its affiliated hospitals will be provided with the necessary equipment to conduct screenings for newborns, as well as training for health staff on how to use the equipment, turning the screening into a mandatory health protocol in all Palestinian healthcare facilities.
The announcement of this project was made during a press conference that included the Palestinian Minister of Health, Dr. Majid Abu Ramadan, the Think Palestine Association, and its partners.
The National Bank's Public Relations Manager, Reem Anani, expressed the importance of the partnership between the private and public sectors in such initiatives to enhance the quality of services provided to our people, especially healthcare services, which are a fundamental pillar in improving citizens' quality of life.
Anani confirmed that the bank's support for this national project aligns with its objectives of investing in sustainable initiatives with impact, noting that this national project has a tangible effect on the auditory health of children in Palestine, enhancing prevention and diagnosis standards, and accelerating therapeutic and rehabilitative interventions for them, thus improving their chances of integrating naturally into the educational system and society.
For his part, the Chairman of the Board of the Think Palestine Association, Tarek Aarouri, affirmed that the launch of this comprehensive national program aims to ensure that every newborn in Palestine undergoes screening to detect congenital hearing disorders early, paving the way for the adoption of a sustainable national policy within the Palestinian Ministry of Health, based on international standards and best medical practices.
