Palestine Bank Contributes to the Rehabilitation Project for Children with Disabilities at Khalil Abu Riya Rehabilitation Center

SadaNews - Palestine Bank has made its contribution to support the rehabilitation project for the children's department at Khalil Abu Riya Center by providing a set of medical equipment for the department. This aims to enhance the department's ability to provide specialized therapeutic and rehabilitation services for children with mobility disabilities, and to enable it to receive dozens of children with disabilities from villages, rural areas, and remote locations across various governorates in the homeland, where nearly 100 children will benefit from the project annually.

The department, through its trained and qualified technical staff, offers a comprehensive program of therapeutic and rehabilitation services as well as primary healthcare services to children suffering from conditions such as spinal cord disorders, spinal injuries, cerebral palsy, head injuries, neurological and muscular diseases, and burn cases.

The program includes nursing care services, physical therapy, occupational therapy, hydrotherapy, psychological support, speech therapy, recreational therapy, in addition to services from auxiliary medical departments, and the presence of specialized doctors in rehabilitation and neurology. The department also allows children with disabilities to stay at the center accompanied by their mothers, enhancing the effectiveness of the therapeutic and rehabilitation plans provided to them.

Palestine Bank's support for this project comes as part of its commitment to social responsibility, aligning with its goals of achieving sustainable economic and social development, stemming from the bank's belief in the importance of supporting various community segments, with a focus on the most vulnerable groups, especially children and those with disabilities.

In this context, Mr. Mahmoud Al-Shawa, General Manager of Palestine Bank, confirmed that the bank pays utmost attention to the disabled community, stating: "We are pleased to contribute to the support of this project coinciding with the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, as we translate our commitment to support this group through all our humanitarian and community programs and initiatives. This aligns with our social responsibility and our pursuit of financial inclusion, as we strive to align our banking products to serve this segment, empower them, and integrate them as an active segment in society, which is in line with our strategic objectives to achieve a sustainable impact in our Palestinian community."

Al-Shawa added: "The bank's interest in this project arises from our commitment to meet the needs of children with disabilities and their families and to reduce the psychological and financial burdens on Palestinian families caring for them," expressing pride in the cooperation with Khalil Abu Riya Center, which has become "a prominent institution in providing high-quality rehabilitation services with high international standards." He emphasized that this cooperation "will contribute to the advancement of rehabilitation services and improve the health and rehabilitation landscape in Palestine."

This project is part of a series of initiatives and projects that Palestine Bank has supported to empower this group. The bank previously provided interest-free loans within an easy financing portfolio worth 1 million USD to finance small and micro projects for people with disabilities. This was implemented in partnership with the Ministry of Labor and under the supervision of the Palestinian Monetary Authority as part of the "Sustainability Fund," aiming to empower this segment to launch income-generating projects, ensuring them a stable source of income and a decent life.

The health sector is one of the vital sectors that Palestine Bank targets annually within its supporting plans, alongside sectors of education, culture, youth, and women, within the framework of its efforts to elevate the services provided to the Palestinian community. The bank allocates 5% of its annual profits to support these sectors, acknowledging its role as a leading national banking institution that participates in taking effective responsibility for achieving comprehensive and sustainable development in Palestine.
