The National Bank Holds Its Ordinary General Assembly Meeting and Approves Its Financial Statements for the Years 2023 and 2024
SadaNews - The National Bank held its ordinary general assembly meeting, during which the assembly unanimously approved the audited financial statements of the bank for the years 2023 and 2024, in addition to electing an external auditor. The meeting was attended by registered companies representative Tariq Rubai'ah, Palestinian Monetary Authority representative Hamdan Al-Abed, Palestinian Capital Market Authority representative Murad Al-Jadba, General Manager of the Palestinian Stock Exchange Nihad Kamal, the responsible partner at Ernst & Young Saed Abdullah, Chairman of the National Bank Samir Zreeq, Vice Chairman Omar Al-Masri, and board members Kamal Abu Khdeijah, Ayoub Zaarab, Dina Al-Masri, Manal Zreeq, CEO Salama Khalil, and the bank's legal advisor Mr. Moussa Al-Kardi, along with several shareholders, where the meeting quorum reached 91.19%.
In his speech during the meeting, Chairman of the National Bank Samir Zreeq emphasized that the past two years have been characterized by stability and resilience due to the political challenges that Palestine has faced following the war on Gaza and its repercussions on the economic situation, which reflected on the financial performance of companies and prompted the bank to take precautionary measures commensurate with the new challenges, noting that the bank maintained one of the best capital adequacy ratios in the Palestinian banking sector, topped by a capital adequacy ratio that exceeded local and global requirements.
Zreeq explained that during this period, the bank enhanced its corporate governance foundations through the establishment and updating of policies, charters, and procedures adopted and applied, such as the conflict of interest policy, the disclosure and transparency policy, and other policies as part of the governance project that the bank adopted.
During the meeting, the general assembly unanimously approved the audited financial statements of the bank for the years 2023 and 2024, after listening to the external auditor's report. The general assembly also approved the election of Ernst & Young as an external auditor until the end of the year 2025.
