Jerusalem Electricity Replaces Main Transformer at Beit Hanina Station with a Capacity of 20 MVA

SadaNews - On Saturday, November 1, 2025, the technical and engineering crews of the Jerusalem District Electricity Company began replacing the main transformer at the Beit Hanina station, as part of efforts to develop infrastructure in the franchise areas, at a cost of 1.5 million shekels.

The company stated in a press release that this step came after studying and analyzing data from the control and monitoring center and the strategic planning department, to address urban and population growth and the increase in electrical loads in the area.

It was clarified that heavy cranes were used during the replacement due to the large size of the transformer, which has a capacity of up to 20 MVA, enhancing the efficiency of the station and ensuring the continuous supply of electricity to subscribers.

The Jerusalem District Electricity Company added, "We are proud of our electrical infrastructure and are continuing to develop networks in line with urban and population growth across all our franchise areas."
