SadaNews - The Arab Bank and Augusta Victoria Hospital – Al-Mutala have signed a cooperation agreement aimed at rehabilitating the elderly care department in the hospital and improving the level of care and rehabilitation services provided to them. This cooperation comes as part of the bank's community initiatives aimed at supporting several vital sectors, including the healthcare sector. The agreement was signed in the presence of Dr. Jamal Hourani, the Director of the Palestinian Area at the Arab Bank, and Dr. Fadi Al-Atresh, the General Executive Director of Al-Mutala Hospital.

The importance of cooperation between banking institutions and the health sector in achieving sustainable community impact was emphasized.

Under the agreement, the bank will cover the costs of rehabilitation work for the elderly department, ensuring it is equipped according to the highest standards. The work will include rehabilitating patient rooms and creating a designated area for providing physiotherapy services, in addition to rehabilitating corridors and floors to ensure the ease of transporting patients and smoothly providing care within a safe and appropriate working environment.

In this context, Dr. Jamal Hourani stated: "The Arab Bank is keen on supporting health initiatives that contribute to improving the level of health services provided to citizens and patients, alleviating their suffering, with a focus on the most in-need areas or those that lack healthcare centers, whether through contributing to providing medical equipment or rehabilitating health centers and public hospitals."

For his part, Dr. Fadi Al-Atresh appreciated the Arab Bank's support and funding for the project, emphasizing that this noble initiative reflects the bank's continuous commitment to supporting the Palestinian health sector. He also affirmed the hospital's commitment, over the past 75 years, to provide high-quality medical services to every patient, as Al-Mutala Hospital is one of the historic hospitals in the city of Jerusalem, receiving patients from various regions and offering unique specialized treatment services in the region, especially in light of current health and economic challenges.
