Whoever Does Not See Us Is Not Human

Is there any country where the price of a gas cylinder is more than $30, the price of a liter of gasoline is more than $2.50, the price of diesel is more than gasoline, the price of a kilo of lamb is $33, calf is $33, the price of electricity is the highest in the world, the cubic meter of water is more than $1.50, and the price of a kilo of coffee is around $20, not to mention other essential goods? White flour is $34, wheat is $20, a liter of milk is four dollars, and a kilo of chicken is more than 7.

If you traveled to Sweden, Finland, or Singapore, you wouldn't find such prices where the average salaries exceed seven thousand dollars, but here the prices are Israeli despite the wage disparity. Is there any country in the world where the occupation authorities refuse to exchange its accumulated currency in its banks or to exchange its worn-out currencies! Have you ever witnessed 70 workers crammed into a garbage container trying to reach their workplaces through infiltration? Have you seen starving people in tents under daily bombardment with no hospitals or medicines forced to pay twenty dollars for a carton of eggs? Have you seen tax officers of the esteemed Hamas imposing taxes on them, including a grave tax! Have you witnessed a country where the days of study have been cut short due to checkpoints or because students or teachers cannot afford the travel costs to schools in the West Bank? Have you seen hospitals that do not dispense medicines due to debts to pharmaceutical companies, and hospitals that have reduced their staff by more than half due to the lack of salaries? Have you seen fasting individuals breaking their fast with whatever they can find at closed checkpoints? All of this and worse is happening to us.

Have you seen a country where the occupation has seized 60 percent of its area for settlement and wants more, preventing grazing or farming, stealing farmers' trees and crops, and taking their livestock to graze in the gardens and houses of their owners from whom they were stolen? Have you seen a child of settlers fed with the milk of hatred and animosity slapping an old man on his face, and the elderly cannot respond or touch him because his fate is death? Whoever does not see us is not human.
