Fatah.. The Pillar Palestine Needs and the National Necessity for Political Balance
Although the Fatah movement has not yet made significant progress in rebuilding itself, it remains the essential pillar of the Palestinian national framework, and the guarantor of the continuity of the national project. Therefore, it is crucial to continue urging it to be aware of the magnitude of the responsibility placed upon it, and to work towards fulfilling the leadership role required by this difficult and complex reality.
The political reality in Palestine is clear and unequivocal: parties dictate the course of our daily lives, and this reality cannot be ignored under the pretext of widespread corruption; it is not merely pictures and eloquent slogans but a truth known by all, felt by every Palestinian in their daily life.
Others may disagree with my assessment of the Fatah movement, and perhaps do not see in it what I see, but no one has the right to impose upon me their vision or echo their statements. From this standpoint, I believe that Fatah's restoration of its leadership role is inevitable, for none among the current forces has the capability to undertake this essential national role.
However, Fatah cannot be alone in the scene; the presence of opposition factions is not an option but a necessity. It creates political balance, prevents any attempts at singularity, and ensures the continuity of democratic competition that reflects the will of the Palestinian people and achieves their true interests.
Palestine needs aware and strong leadership, and parties that realize their strength does not lie in positions or personal gains, but in their ability to serve the homeland and protect its national project, no matter how intensified the challenges or complicated the crises become.
